Giving your favorite weapon or item a name adds flavor and creates a personal connection. “Bloodfang” sounds a lot cooler in battle than “my longsword.”
It’s a small touch, but giving a name to your weapon, armor, or even a worn-out backpack can make it feel like part of your character’s story. “Bloodfang,” “Skybreaker,” or “The Iron Vest of Torm” carries way more personality than “a +1 sword” or “my chainmail.” GMs might even reward you with a bit of lore or a minor mechanical bonus later. Named gear feels earned – like it’s been through the same battles you have.
