Encounter Possibilities: The players may find the missing person in debt, working as a “cleaner” for the den, or deep into gambling addiction. The den’s staff may be hiding them, offering the players a choice between negotiation, intimidation, or subtlety.

Fulfilling a Debt

Mission: The players themselves or someone they know may have accumulated a gambling debt at the den. The debt is now due, and the players must either repay it, or face the consequences. Perhaps they must engage in a high-stakes game or perform a task to clear the debt.

Encounter Possibilities: A tense game of cards or dice, where the players must win or find a way to cheat without getting caught. Alternatively, they may be forced into a side job for the den’s owners.

Exposing a Corrupt Official

Mission: The players may be hired by a local politician or city watch member to investigate rumors of a corrupt official or city guard who frequents the den. Their task is to gather evidence of bribery, cheating, or other criminal activities that would undermine the law.
